Huskies Wrap Up Northeast Challenge

STORRS, Conn.- UConn track and field hosted its second meet of the outdoor season, concluding the two-day Northeast Challenge on Saturday at George J. Sherman Family Complex.
Men's Track:
- Medwin Odamtten won the 100m dash in 10.37. Odamtten also finished fifth in the 200m, posting a personal-best time of 21.37.
- Del Lindsay finished second in the 400m, with a personal-best time of 47.36. Noah Colangelo placed sixth at 48.12.
- Gabriel Cuffey set a new personal-best in the 800m, crossing the line in 1:49.97 to finish second.
- Christian Menounos won the 1500m, posting a time of 3:52.25.
- The team of Peyton Butler, Cuffey, TJ Jaravaza, and Del Lindsay won the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:09.79.
- Daniel Hilmer won the 3000m steeplechase, crossing the line in 9:15.13.
Women's Track:
- Brooklyn Taylor finished second in the 100m hurdles at 13.61. Maia Rich finished fifth at 14.42.
- Anna Connors placed second in the 200m with a time of 24.08. Connors also finished third in the 400m at 54.44.
- Jessica Starr won the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.63. Kiley Shatzel finished fourth in 1:00.67, and Rich placed fifth at 1:00.75.
- Calista Mayer finished fifth in the 800m with a personal-best of 2:10.66.
- Ally McCarthy set a new personal-best in the 1500m at 4:34.55.
- Megan Minicucci finished second in the 5000m at 17:45.39.
Men's Field:
- Marshall Potter won the hammer throw at 61.21m. Alex Krause placed fourth at 56.99m.
- Enaji Muhammad won the high jump at 2.11m.
- Thoams Bannon won the javelin at 67.37m. Connor Hayford secured third at 61.28m.
- Wyatt Martin placed fourth in the pole vault at 4.55m.
- Dar Jankovic won the decathlon with 7,072 points.
Women's Field:
- Gabriela DeFelice snagged second in the discus at 45.95m. DeFelice also finished fourth in the hammer throw, with a performance of 52.41m.
- Kaylee Meyer notched a second-place finish in the high jump at 1.65m.
- Brooklyn Taylor finished second in the long jump at 5.90m. Jalynn Smith secured fourth place at 5.58m.
- Rachel Mason finished second in the pole vault at 3.80m. Piper Linn and Abigail Bernas had third and fourth-place finishes, both clearing 3.55m.
- Brook-lynn Roberts secured fifth in the shot put at 13.70m.
- UConn dominated the heptathlon. Ruby Tillson (5,442 points), Alyssa Elliott (5,253 points), Audrey Kozak (5,001 points) and Mackenzie Braunstein (4,838 points) swept the top four spots in the event.
Up Next: The Huskies will compete at the historic Penn Relays next weekend, beginning on Thursday, April 23rd.
