Huskies Fall to Elon and Charlotte

NORTH CAROLINA - The UConn women's tennis team wrapped up a non-conference weekend, falling to Elon University and Charlotte University in North Carolina.
The Huskies opened the weekend with a matchup against Elon. The Huskies started the match strong, winning no.1 and no.2 doubles pairings. Ela Platenikova and Chloe Lomans continued their success in no.1 doubles in a 6-3 win, while Victoria Matos and Ela Mcleod followed with a 6-3 win in no.2 doubles.
Following the hot start by the Huskies, Elon responded, winning five of six single matchups to secure the 5-2 victory. The lone singles win was by Isabella Asenov in no.6 singles (6-3, 6-3).
The Huskies looked to avenge to loss to Elon as they faced off against Charlotte, but the Huskies were unable to salvage a split weekend as they fell to Charlotte by a final of 4-0. The Huskies had four unfinished matches, including three in singles play.
