Huskies Secure BIG EAST Weekend Sweep over Marquette and Providence

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis team completed a 2-0 weekend against Marquette and Providence. The Huskies started the weekend with a 7-0 win over Marquette and ended the weekend with a 7-0 win over Providence.
The Huskies dominant weekend began with a sweep in no-1 through no.6 singles. Ela Platenikova set the tone early with a 6-4, 6-2 win while Isabella Asenov rounded out the sweep with a. 6-0, 6-1 win.
In doubles the Huskies won no.2 and no.3 doubles matches while the no.1 doubles matchup went unfinished.
The matchup against Providence was similar as the Huskies won two doubles matchups (no.1 and no.3) while no.2 doubles went unfinished. In singles, the Huskies once again swept no.1 through no.6 singles to secure the dominant 7-0 win.
