Huskies Display Strong Performances in First Home Regatta

COVENTRY, Conn. – The UConn women's rowing team opened their home slate on Saturday, hosting Bryant and Trinity at Coventry Lake.
The Huskies displayed strong performances finishing in first place in the 2nd Varsity 8 (7:02:9), the Varsity 4 (8:09:9), the 2nd Varsity 4 (7:59:1), and the 3rd Varsity 8 (7:12:9). UConn finished in second place in the Varsity 8, eleven seconds behind first place finisher Trinity, with a time of 6:57:46.
"It was great having a home race today," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "The athletes battled through very cold and rough conditions and winning four out of five races was a nice reward to the team's efforts. I'm excited to get a full week of practice on the water this week before racing Marist and Sacred Heart on Friday."
The Huskies will return to action on Friday, April 3 as UConn will welcome Marist and Sacred Heart to Coventry Lake.
