Huskies Begin Outdoor Season in Myrtle Beach

STORRS- UConn track and field kicks off its outdoor season this week, traveling to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The meet will begin on March 19th and conclue
The Huskies had another successful indoor season, sweeping the BIG EAST Championships for the fifth consecutive year. Sophomore Maresa Hense earned second team All-America honors after a ninth-place finish in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships last weekend. Hense broke her own pentathlon program record, finishing with 4,231 points, highlighted by a second-place finish in the 800m.
UConn finished the indoor season with 10 BIG EAST Champions, 53 all-time top 10 program marks and four new school records in the pentathlon, heptathlon, men's 60m and men's 4x400m relay.
The meet will kick off on Thursday at 1:00pm.
