Fudd Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week

NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball graduate student Azzi Fudd was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.
In two wins last week, Fudd led UConn with 21.0 points per game on a .516/.545/.800 shooting split. She also averaged 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
In an 86-40 win at DePaul, Fudd scored 25 points, her most in a BIG EAST game this season, on 10-17 shooting. She also had three steals.
In an 80-48 win over Butler, Fudd notched 17 points, four assists and three steals.
In February, Fudd is averaging 23.0 points per game while shooting 56.3% from the field and 57.9% from three with 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game.
Fudd ranks eighth nationally in made three pointers (73) and 15th in three-point percentage (44.8).
This is Fudd's fifth career BIG EAST Player of the Week honor.
No. 1 UConn (25-0, 14-0 BIG EAST) hosts Creighton (12-12, 8-7) Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Gampel Pavilion on peacock and NBC Sports Network.
