SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UConn women's basketball senior Serah Williams was named a top-10 candidate for the 2026 Lisa Leslie Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Friday.
The Lisa Leslie Award, now in its ninth year, recognizes the top centers in Division I women's college basketball. It is named after the three-time All-American, 1994 National Player of the Year, and Class of 2015 Hall of Famer.
Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in both of the remaining rounds starting on Friday, February 6, on hoophallawards.com. The Fan Vote will count as one committee vote during the finalist selection process.
In her first season as a Husky, Williams has stepped into the starting lineup and helped UConn maintain an undefeated 24-0 record and the No. 1 ranking.
Williams is second on the team in rebounds and blocks. She has compiled 1,663 career points and 889 career rebounds. Williams is shooting a career-high 58.1% from the field.
Earlier in the week, graduate student Azzi Fudd was named a candidate for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award (shooting guard) and sophomore Sarah Strong was selected as a candidate for the Katrina McClain Award (power forward).
