UConn to Face Syracuse in Hall of Fame Series Exhibition Monday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's basketball team will play its first preseason game vs. Syracuse in the Hall of Fame Series Exhibition Monday at 6:30 p.m. in Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Monday's game will air on NBC Sports Boston and will stream for free on UConn+. The game will also be broadcast through the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
UConn went 38-1 in 2025-26, ending in the Huskies' record 25th NCAA Final Four appearance. The Huskies return reigning National Player of the Year Sarah Strong, BIG EAST Freshman and Sixth Woman of the Year Blanca Quiñonez and senior starters KK Arnold and Ashlynn Shade.
UConn will feature three newcomers this season. No. 2-ranked recruit Olivia Vukosa is a member of the Croatian National Team and was named the 2025-26 Gatorade National Girls' Basketball Player of the Year. Freshmen Jovana Popovic and Marine Dursus bring extensive international experience to the Huskies, with Popovic making her Serbian Senior National Team debut earlier this season and Durus being a prospect of the French National Team system.
Head coach Geno Auriemma and associate head coach Chris Dailey return to Storrs for their 42nd seasons. Assistant coaches Morgan Valley and Tonya Cardoza are joined by UConn legend and Connecticut native Nykesha Sales.
The Orange return 2026 ACC Rookie of the Year Uche Izoje and feature eight newcomers this season. Syracuse went 24-9 in 2025-26, featuring an NCAA Tournament appearance.
UConn is 41-13 all-time in regulation games vs. Syracuse. The Huskies and Orange last faced off in the 2026 NCAA Tournament Second Round. UConn won 98-45, led by a 34-point performance from then-graduate student Azzi Fudd.
The UConn men's basketball team will also face the Orange in the Hall of Fame Series Exhibition on Tuesday at Mohegan at 7 p.m.
UConn's next two preseason games vs. Texas and Army will air locally on WFSB and The Wax respectively. Fans can stream both games on UConn+ for $9.99 or just the Army game for $4.99.
