WSOC Faces In-State Foe Thursday Night

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (1-2-1) stay on the road for a Thursday, Sept. 4 match up against the Yale Bulldogs (2-1) on ESPN+.
The Huskies earned a hard-fought draw on the road at Rutgers on Sunday. UConn is looking to end a two-game scoreless drought, their longest since a three consecutive shutouts in 2023.Â
Chioma Okafor and Kailtyn Richins have one goal a piece after four matches in 2025.Â
The Huskies defeated Yale, 2-1, on a pair of goals from Okafor last season in Storrs. UConn is 21-4-1 all time against the Bulldogs and are looking to end a three-match losing streak in New Haven with the program's last win at Yale in 1995.Â
The UConn defense is coming off its second shutout of the season and have yet to allow more than one goal in a match this season. Senior captain Anna Carson has played every minute in all four matches this year for the Huskies.Â
Yale is 2-1 entering Thursday's match with a pair of wins against Vermont and Hofstra. The last match for the Bulldogs was a 2-1 road loss at Vanderbilt.Â
