Huskies Set for BIG EAST Battle vs. #5 Liberty

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's field hockey team is back in action as they travel south for a BIG EAST battle vs. no.5 Liberty. The match is set to begin at 6pm and can be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Huskies are coming off a 1-1 weekend which featured a 2-1 victory over Villanova to open BIG EAST action followed by a 5-0 loss to no.9 Princeton. The Huskies enter the matchup posting a 3-4 record with all four losses coming at the hands of ranked teams. These two teams faced off twice last season with both matches ending with a UConn victory. The Huskies faced off against Liberty Oct. 25 with the Huskies securing a 2-1 overtime win, followed by a matchup in the BIG EAST tournament which ended with 2-1 victory pushing the Huskies to the championship game.
Liberty is coming off a 1-0 weekend which featured a 2-0 win over Quinnipiac, also securing their first BIG EAST win of the 2025 season. Liberty enters the matchup ranked fifth in the country and is posting a 5-1 overall record with their lone loss being to no.2 North Carolina.
