STORRS, Conn. - Â The UConn women's field hockey team is back in action as they hit the road for the weekend. The Huskies will have their first BIG EAST action as they take on Villanova Friday September 19, before closing out the road trip with a matchup against Princeton University.
The Huskies enter the matchup with a 2-3 overall record. The Huskies are coming off an 0-2 weekend as they fell to no.18 Rutgers in OT and no.8 Harvard in regulation. The Huskies are averaging two goals per game with 11 shots per game. UConn holds the overall series record 37-7 with the latest matchup being a 5-0 shutout in favor of UConn.
Villanova enters the matchup with a 1-4 overall record. Villanova is coming off a 1-1 weekend with their lone win coming against La Salle by a final of 3-0. The matchup against the Huskies will be the first BIG EAST action for the Wildcats.
Following the matchup with the Wildcats, the Huskies will travel to take on Princeton University Sunday Sept. 21. Princeton enters the matchup posting a 2-2 overall record and will face off against Penn before welcoming UConn to campus.
