UConn Announces Contract Extension for Director of Track & Field Beth Alford-Sullivan

Storrs, Conn. – The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics has announced a multi-year contract extension for Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Beth Alford-Sullivan, reaffirming the university's commitment to the continued growth and success of the program.
Alford-Sullivan, who joined UConn in 2022, has led the Huskies to several notable accomplishments during her tenure, including 12 BIG EAST Championships, 238 BIG EAST Individual Medals, 100+ BIG EAST Individual Champions, 15 NCAA Championship qualifiers, and 8 All-Americans. Alford-Sullivan has earned USTFCCCA Northeast Region Men's Coach of the Year honors five times and was named 2024 Outdoor USTFCAA Northeast Region Men's & Women's Coach of the Year.

"Since joining our program, Beth has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to the development of our student-athletes, both in competition and in the classroom. Under her guidance, our track and field and cross country teams have made significant strides, and we believe her vision and experience will continue to elevate our program. We look forward to the continued progress and success under her direction."
In addition to competitive achievements, Alford-Sullivan has emphasized academic excellence and community engagement, with her teams consistently posting strong GPAs and participating in outreach efforts throughout the Storrs community.
"I am excited and honored to continue to lead this UConn program," said Alford-Sullivan. "I have had a great start to things here and appreciate my staff, the student-athletes and the leadership. Winning is great fun, and I will work hard to keep our winning traditions going!"
