STORRS, Conn. – The 12th ranked UConn women's hockey team is set for their Hockey East Quarterfinal matchup against the Merrimack Warriors on Saturday, March 1 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00pm and the game will be televised live on NESN. TICKETS
UConn (21-11-2, 19-6-2 Hockey East) comes into the tournament as the top seed for the second consecutive year. UConn is seeking their second straight Bertagna Trophy after winning the program's first ever Hockey East Tournament Championship in 2023-24.
UConn has leaned on their veterans this season. Senior goaltender Tia Chan has been rock solid in between the pipes this season, as Chan was tabbed as the Hockey East Goaltender of the Year. Chan was also a Hockey East First Team All-Star along with classmate, senior defender Ava Rinker who has played in every game this season as UConn's top blue liner. Freshman forward Claire Murdoch has led the UConn roster in points for most of the season. Murdoch was named a Second Team All-Star, and a unanimous All-Rookie Team selection.
Senior forward Jada Habisch and sophomore forward Ashley Allard also received Hockey East honors, being named Third Team All-Stars. Both Habisch and Allard have played in every game this season, as the two rank second and third on UConn's roster in points, combining for 21 of the Huskies 75 goals this season.
