UNCASVILLE, Conn. – The 2025-26 UConn men's basketball team will take the floor for the first time on Monday night when it takes part in the Hall of Fame Exhibition at Mohegan Sun. UConn will renew its longtime rivalry with Boston College in a contest set to tip at 7 p.m. The preseason affair will air on NBC Sports Boston and be simulcast for all on UConn+ with Brendan Glasheen, Tim Welsh and Kayla Burton calling the action.
The Huskies are participating in the Hall of Fame Exhibition for the second-straight season, taking down Rhode Island, 102-75, in the inaugural event at Mohegan Sun a year ago. It will be the first of two exhibition contests for Connecticut this preseason, also taking on Michigan State at PeoplesBank Arena on Oct. 28.
While the contest will not count towards the overall series, UConn has compiled a 55-35 record against Boston College in a series dating back over a century to the 1918-19 campaign. The sides have met only once since BC departed the BIG EAST, a 72-70 win for UConn on Nov. 21, 2013. From March 1988 until the Eagles' 2005 exit the Huskies thoroughly dominated their New England adversaries, going 28-3 over that span.
UConn has high hopes for the 2025-26 season and returns nearly 60 percent of its scoring from a year ago. All-America hopefuls Alex Karaban, Solo Ball and Tarris Reed Jr. highlight the five returners for Connecticut along with experienced juniors Jaylin Stewart and Jayden Ross. Impact transfers Silas Demary Jr. and Malachi Smith headline the class of 10 newcomers along with McDonald's All-American freshmen Braylon Mullins and Eric Reibe.
Following the BC contest UConn will be off the court for 15 days before its next exhibition against the Spartans. The 2025-26 regular season commences on Nov. 3 at Gampel Pavilion against in-state neighbor New Haven.
