» The Huskies return to Hockey East action as they are set to kick off a home and home
series with no.7 Providence
» The Huskies are coming a 2-0 weekend and CT Ice Championship. The Huskies beat
#15 Quinnipiac in the opening round, before shutting out Sacred Heart University to
win the 5th CT Ice Championship, first in program history.
» Ryan Tattle had a great weekend in a Husky Uniform, scoring two goals Friday evening
which included the game winner with .5 seconds left to beat Quinnipiac. Tattle was
named to the CT Ice All-Tournament team for his performance.
» Junior Tyler Muszelik the reigning Hockey East Goalie of the week had another stand-
out weekend, making a total of 58 saves while allowing just one goal. His performance
earned him a spot on the CT Ice All-Tournament Team as well as being named the
Tournaments Most Outstanding Player.
» Record Breakers: Hudson Schandor and John Spetz both made UConn history over the
weekend. Schandor surpassed Jachym Kondelik, becoming the leader for total points
in the Hockey East era, while John Spetz surpassed Joe Masonius for most points by a
defenseman in the Hockey East era.
» Hudson Schandor has been on a tear in the second half, registering a point in 8 of 10
games, while Joey Muldowney has registered a point in 7 of 9 games.
» Hobey Baker: Joey Muldowney (23 points) and Hudson Schandor (21 points) are both
nominees for the 2025 Hobey Baker Award.
» Short Handed Strengths: The Huskies are currently lead the country with 7 short handed
goals scored. UConn scored two shorthanded goals this past weekend vs. New Hamp-
shire.
» Huskies in the NHL: Marc Gatcomb has become the 9th Husky to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the New York Islanders. Gatcomb joins, Chase
Bradley, Ruslan Iskhakov, Yan Kuznetsov, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov,
Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
