WTEN Ready for Serve Against Providence at Home

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set for a BIG EAST matchup against Providence at home at Magic Lincer Tennis Club on Friday, March 22.
The Huskies are 8-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Last time out, UConn beat Valdosta State in a tight 4-3 win back on Monday, March 11. Junior Maria Constantinou at the second singles spot carries a strong 7-5 record and in doubles, junior Isabel Petri Bere and first-year Caroline Hinshaw hold an 8-6 record playing at the second and third doubles positions.
Scouting Providence
Entering the matchup, the Friars are 3-10 overall and 0-1 in BIG EAST play. Last time out, Providence fell to Emporia State 7-0 back on Wednesday, March 13. Liria Loria leads the way for the Friars this season in singles with a 3-3 record playing at the fourth and fifth singles positions.
Last season, the Huskies took a 5-2 win over Providence. In all-time matchups, UConn is 8-2 against the Friars.
