MSOC Welcomes No. 19 Georgetown to Storrs on Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team hosts the No. 19 Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday, October 12. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm. Tickets are available HERE.
UConn is currently atop of the BIG EAST standings in the East Division with seven points. Georgetown is right behind the Huskies in second place with six points.
UConn is coming off their first loss of the season at Vermont on Tuesday. The Huskies conceded their first goal in four games, equaling to 376 minutes of game time. UConn currently ranks 5th in the country in goals against average at 0.64 per game. Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Max Kerkvliet has been a big part of UConn's defensive success this season, ranking at the top of the conference in save percentage (0.85), saves (39), and shutouts (5).
Georgetown is coming into Saturday's match winners in three of their last five matches. The Hoyas are coached by Brian Wiese who is in his 19th season. Georgetown's leading goal scorer this season is freshman forward Mitchell Baker (4). UConn has never beat Georgetown in Chris Gbandi's tenure. The Hoyas knocked the Huskies out in last year's BIG EAST Tournament in the semifinal (Nov. 9). Georgetown leads the all-time series 16-14-4. The last time the Huskies beat the Hoyas was October 3, 2012 (2-1).
