» The UConn Huskies will head to the XL Center to face off against Sacred Heart in the 4th annual CT Ice Tournament. The Huskies are the host for this years tournament.
» The Huskies are coming off a 1-1 weekend in which featured an upset shutout over the #17 New Hampshire Wildcats. Their second
» Huskies in the NHL: Yan Kuznetsov became the 6th Husky to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the Calgary Flames. Kuznetsov joins, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
» Matthew Wood is the 6th Husky under Head Coach Mike Cavanaugh to play in the prestigious World Juniors tournament, and the first to play for Team Canada.
» Sophomore class finding their stride. The Huskies 2nd year skaters have begun to find their stride on the offensive end of the ice. Jake Percival, Ryan Tattle, have seen an uptick in goals, while Tristan Fraser, Tabor Heaslip, and defenseman Tom Messineo continue to make an impact by setting up their teammates for goals.
» Sophomore Arsenii Sergeev has been recognized for the second straight week as Hockey East goaltender of the Week. Sergeev is 2-0 including 1 shutout since returning to the lineup for the Huskies.
» Chase Bradley leads the team with nine goals and 7 assists. Despite fluctuating lineups due to injuries and World Juniors, Bradley continues to make an impact for the Huskies.
» While captain Hudson Schandor hasn't consistently found the back of the net, the senior has made an impact in other areas. Schandor currently leads the team with 10 assists and sits second in total points with 13, and has won 53% of his faceoffs.
» Last year's CT Ice tournament began with the Huskies taking down Yale in the opening round by a final of 6-1 before falling to Quinnipiac in the championship game by a final of 4-3. The Huskies were leading vs. the Bobcats last year, but two unanswered goals sealed the win and the championship for Quinnipiac.
