Huskies Sweep St. Francis

WEST POINT, New York- UConn women's volleyball team led by Jasmine Davis and Madi Whitmire took home their second win of the season with a dominant 3-0 sweep of St. Francis College.
The Huskies and Terriers would start the game trading points until senior Jasmine Davis would fire off multiple kills giving UConn the lead and forcing St. Francis to call a timeout. Coming out of the timeout the Huskies would go on a 4-0 run forcing another Terriers timeout. Seniors Caylee Parker and Allie Garland would get hot to end the set, combining for eight kills, and preventing any chance of a Terriers comeback.
Allie Garland would pick up right where she left off as she would be set up for three more kills, pushing her total to seven. After a brief Terriers run, Caylee Parker, Kennadie Jake-Turner and Jasmine Davis would take over, each pushing their total kills to five in set two to give UConn the 25-17 victory. Â
UConn would come out to start set three strong as they would instantly jump to a 14-7 lead. UConn would take home the third set by a final of 25-16. Senior Jasmine Davis would finish with a team high 10 kills, followed closely behind by Allie Garland and Kennadie Jake-Turner with eight. Madi Whitmire would finish the match with 34 total assists.

UConn will close out the Black Knight Invitational with two matches on Saturday September 3. To begin the day, the Huskies will face off against no. 20 Kansas beginning at 11am, followed by a matchup vs. Army at 7pm. The 7pm match vs. Army will be streamed on ESPN+.
