UConn loses to Butler 6-2 in Series Opener

Indianapolis, IN – UConn drops first game to Butler 6-2.
Meghan O'Neil got the start in game one for the Huskies. She went 1.2 innings striking out two.
Butler took an early 4-0 lead in the first. They went on to add two more runs in the second making it 6-0.
Elise Sokolsky came in relief for O'Neil in the second inning. She would shut down the Butler offense only allowing one hit and struck out a game high ten in 4.1 innings pitched.
UConn got on the board in the sixth. Rosie Garcia hit a single to right center to score Reese Guevarra. Lexi Hastings tripled to bring around Garcia making it 6-2.
The Huskies will play game two against Butler tomorrow at 1:00pm.
