Dembrowski, Hamilton Lead UConn Past Providence, 4-0

STORRS, Conn. – Senior Jessica Dembrowski and sophomore Sophie Hamilton each had four points as the UConn field hockey team (2-0) shutout Providence (0-1), 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the Sherman Family Sports Complex.
Dembrowski scored twice vs. the Friars while Hamilton had a goal and two assists. Sophomore Claire Jandewerth also scored vs. Providence.
UConn held a 21-1 advantage in shots and a 10-0 advantage in penalty corners.
Dembrowski notched the first two goals of the game in the second and third quarters. Hamilton scored just 40 seconds into the fourth and Jandewerth tallied one off a penalty corner.
Redshirt junior Cheyenne Sprecher made one save in the shutout.
The Huskies are back in action to face the Friars again at Providence next Sunday at 1 p.m. Â
