Huskies Draw Temple to Open AAC Tourney

The American Athletic Conference announced the seeding and pair for this week's championship tournament and the UConn men's tennis team will face the Temple Owls in the opening round at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The Huskies are seeded 10th in the tournament and face the No. 7 seeded Owls at 9 am Thursday morning.Â
The winner of Thursday's first round match will move on to the quarterfinal round on Friday to take on the No. 2 seed Tulane. The host UCF Knights will be the tournament's No. 1 seed for the first time in their program's history. Seeds for the championships are determined by the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. The winner of the men's championship will earn The American's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Tennis Championships. The top six seeds in the tournament received byes to the quarterfinal round.

The Huskies and Temple meet earlier this season with the Owls posting a 7-0 win in a match played at Manchester's Magic Lincer Tennis Club. The Huskies finished the dual match season with a 7-14 overall record and were 0-2 against AAC teams. Â
