Huskies Lose to Temple in AAC Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. -The UConn men's tennis team saw their season come to an end on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Temple Owls in the opening round of the 2019 American Athletic Championship being held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The Owls posted a 4-0 win to move on in the tournament.
The Huskies lost the doubles point as Temple posted wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Juan Araoz and Eric Biscoveanu beat UConn's John Michael Holtmann (Coral Gables, Fla.) and senior Jack McLister (Leesburg, Va.), 6-1 at No. 2. At No. 3, Paolo Cucalon and Uladzimir Dorash clinched it with a 6-2 win over Evan Powell (Guilford, Conn.) and senior Justin Warren (Durham, N.C.).
In singles play, Temple posted wins at No. 2, No. 4 and No.6 o win the match. At No.1 singles, Holtman lost a tough battle in the first set of his match with Caceres Casas, 7-6 and at No. 5, Warren also lost a tough first set, 7-6, to Biscoveanu. Â
