Women’s Hockey Set for Home-and-Home with Holy Cross

STORRS, Conn. – Riding in on a two game win streak, the Huskies resume Hockey East competition with a home-and-home series against Holy Cross. UConn will host the Crusaders on Friday, Jan. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Freitas Ice Forum. The Huskies will close out the series on Saturday, Jan. 5 in Worcester, Mass. at 2 p.m.

Opponent and Series History…
- The Huskies and Crusaders have met on the ice five times, with Holy Cross holding a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series.
- In the first meeting between the two schools earlier this season, UConn beat Holy Cross in dominating fashion as the team skated away with a 7-2 victory.
- Holy Cross enters the contest with a 1-16-2 overall record and a 1-12- mark in WHEA competition. The Crusaders last hit the ice on Dec. 7, suffering a 4-1 setback at Providence.
- Carlie Magier leads the team in goals (5) and points (6), while Julie Matthias and Emma Lange each boast a team high four assists.

Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
