CHICAGO, Ill. – The UConn volleyball team lost a hard fought five-set battle with Purdue Fort Wayne on the final day of the DePaul Invitational on Saturday afternoon. UConn rookie Caylee Parker (Windsor, Ontario) notched her fourth double double effort of the season in the loss as the Huskies dropped to 6-4 on the young season.
After dropping the opening set 25-21, the Huskies answered by winning 25-23 in the second and after trailing 22-16, came roaring back to win the third set, 29-27. The Mastodons pushed the match to a fifth set with a 25-14 win in the fourth and then just clipped the Huskies in the deciding frame, 18-16.

Senior Iman McGary (Rockford, Ill.) turned in a season-best 16 digs in the loss. Freshman Anna Petrova (Voronezh, Russia) was the only other Husky with double digit kills, picking up 10 in the loss. Petrova has come on of late, recording double digit kills in three of her last four matches.
UConn will return home to Gampel Pavilion next weekend to host the annual Dog Pound Challenge. The Huskies will face Holy Cross and Rutgers next Friday, September 14 and St. John's on Saturday, September 15.
