TAMPA, Fla. - The Huskies four-game win streak was snapped on Saturday night after being defeated 8-4 by USF.
The Huskies (11-8) held a 4-2 lead in the sixth but a five-run frame for USF helped even the weekend series up.
Mason Feole pitched five innings for UConn and battled on the mound. The left-handler allowed theee runs on five hits and stranded the bases loaded on two occasions.
UConn gave Feole the lead in the second on an RBI double for Christian Fedko, his team-leading sixth two-bagger of the year.
Andy Hague, in his first career start, added a run later in the frame on a sac fly to right.
Thad Phillips registered a multi-hit effort and roped an RBI double into the left field corner in the third.
The Huskies look to win the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. Chase Gardner will make his sixth start of the season for the Huskies.
