UConn Ready for Home Weekend of WHEA Action

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team (5-4-1, 2-3-1 WHEA) returns to the ice for the first time since last Thursday as they set to host BU and Maine in a two-game home stand this Friday and Saturday at the Freitas Ice Forum. The Huskies will host the Terriers Friday at 6 p.m. and the Black Bears on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Opponent and Series History…
- vs. BU:
- UConn trails 11-24-7 in the all-time series against BU.
- The last three games between the Huskies and Terries have all finished in ties, as the teams have combined for just five goals.
- BU (1-3-3) is playing just its second hockey game outside of Massachusetts.
- vs. Maine:
- The Huskies lead the all-time series 32-16-7, but have gone 0-3-2 in their last five tilts against the Black Bears.
- Maine (7-3) enters the game after a 1-1 weekend of Hockey East play that saw them drop a 5-1 decision to Merrimack before shutting out Holy Cross, 8-0, on Sunday.
Last Time the Huskies Hit the Ice…
UConn dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 5 Boston College last Thursday. The Eagles scored a goal late in the first period and then added two third-period goals to secure the win.
Leading the Pack…
Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
