Men’s Basketball to Host Cornell at the XL Center

HARTFORD, Conn. – After a weekend in New York, the UConn men's basketball team (3-1) returns to Connecticut where they will host the Cornell Big Red (3-2) on Tuesday night at the XL center in Hartford, Conn. The contest is set to tip off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on SNY.

Opponent and Series History…
- UConn and Cornell will meet on the hardwood for the first time since Dec. 31, 1964. The all-time series between the two schools is tied at 1-1, with Cornell winning the '64 matchup by a score of 75-63.
- The Big Red enter Tuesday night's tilt with a 3-2 recording, holding wins over Ithaca College, Binghampton University and SUNY Canyon while suffering losses to Delaware and NJIT.
- Matt Morgan leads the team in scoring and rebounds, as the senior guard averages a whopping 25.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. Jimmy Boehiem is the next highest with a scoring average of 15.0. Boehiem and Steven Julian are second on the Big Red in rebounding, pulling down an average of 5.2 boards a piece.

Coach Dan Hurley enters his first season at the helm after he became the 19th head coach in the history of UConn men's basketball on March 22, 2018. Prior to his hiring, Hurley spent two seasons at Wagner College and six at the University of Rhode Island, and owns a collegiate coaching record of 153- 105 (.593). He is coming off two consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and last season was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
