Wareham, Mass. - University of Connecticut baseball player John Andreoli (Shrewsbury, Mass.) is set to participate in the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game this year, as he will serve as the starting left fielder for the West Team. The 47th CCBL All-Star game will take place on Friday, July 29th at 7:05 p.m. at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass.
Andreoli, who is playing on the Cape for the second straight year, has been a spark in the Gateman lineup since joining the squad after UConn's run in the NCAA Tournament last month. He is hitting a team high .329, has seven RBI, seven stolen bases, and has also posted six multiple hit games so far this season. He is one of six Gatemen to post 25 or more hits on the year, recording 28 through 27 games played.
The Shrewsbury, Mass. native will be joined by three others from the Wareham Gatemen in the All-Star Game; starting pitcher Justin Amlung (Louisville), closer Konner Wade (Arizona) and infielder Max Muncy (Baylor).
The All-Star Game format will feature the traditional East vs. West matchup and will be preceded by a homerun derby and autograph session. For the third consecutive season, the CCBL All-Star Game will be returning to Fenway Park in Boston, Mass. This year's game will be held on Friday, July 29th at 7:05 p.m. and tickets are only $10.00. Fans interested in purchasing tickets can do so through the CCBL website or by calling 877-REDSOX-9. All seats will be sold as general admission seating.
