LJ Mazzilli On USA National Collegiate Team

STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut second baseman LJ Mazzilli (Greenwich, Conn.) is currently playing as a member of USA Baseball's College National Team.
The team is currently on a tour of New England against collegiate summer teams and will then move to the Durham, N.C. area starting on June 30 for three more games, including two against the 18-Under National Team. The tour will end as the United States team will play a five-game series against the Japanese national team from July 3-8 in Durham, Cary and Kannapolis, N.C, and in Omaha, Neb. Though the games of June 26,
Mazzilli is batting .250 in three games with one RBI and two runs scored. Mazzilli will be a junior for the Huskies next year. The team currently has 26 players on it, with at least three more being added following the conclusion of the College World Series. The roster will be cut to 22 prior to the series against Japan.
