NEW YORK, N.Y. - With six first place finishes and three second place finishes, the University of Connecticut men's track and field team came away victorious at the Great Dane Invitational this evening at the Armory in New York, N.Y. The Huskies finished the meet with 119.5 points, ahead of second place finisher Albany who posted 84 points.
"This was a great meet for us, we didn't run our championship lineup so to say, but we worked hard and we came away with a great victory," head coach Greg Roy said. "We worked on some things throughout the whole meet, experimenting with different athletes. This was a very productive meet for us and we were able to see what we can do against some great competition including BIG EAST teams Villanova and Pittsburgh."
