Springer's Grand Slam Lifts USA over Japan 4-2

STORRS, Conn. - UConn baseball's George Springer took over the team lead in RBI on Thursday as he hit a grand slam to lift Team USA over Japan 4-2 in semi-final action at the V FISU World University Baseball Championships inside Yokohama Stadium.
Springer, who now has 17 RBI on the year, will lead Team USA in its fourth-straight appearance in the FISU gold medal game on Saturday, Aug. 7 at 5:00 a.m. (EST). Team USA (16-2) will take on Cuba in the contest.
