QUEENS, N.Y. - UConn baseball's Billy Ferriter was named MVP of the 2010 ACBL All-Star Game at Jack Kaiser Stadium in Queens, N.Y. on Monday.
Ferriter, who went 4-for-4 with one run scored and four stolen bases, led the ACBL East All-Stars despite their 4-1 loss to the West All-Stars. His run was the East's lone run of the ballgame, which he scored in the eighth inning in a late comeback attempt.
He also tallied four of the East's six total hits in the contest.
UConn pitcher Michael Zaccardo, who was also playing for the East All-Stars, struck out two in one inning of work.
