Jeff Fulchino Visits UConn

STORRS, Conn. - Former University of Connecticut baseball standout and current Houston Astros pitcher Jeff Fulchino visited the Storrs campus on Thursday afternoon. Fulchino, who played with the Huskies in 1999-2001, is currently a part of the Houston Astros organization and made his MLB debut on June 22, 2006.
Most recently during the 2010 season with the Astros, Fulchino posted a 2-1 record along with a 5.51 ERA. In 50 games played, he allowed 53 hits and struck out 46 batters in 47.1 innings thrown.
In his final year as a Husky in 2001, Fulchino went 4-6 with three complete games and one save as he threw 71 innings of work. He struck out 57 batters as well before being drafted by the Florida Marlins in the eighth round of the 2001 amateur draft.
When visiting with the 2011 UConn baseball team, Fulchino was joined by his wife, the former Kerry Fasano from Madison, Conn., who lettered in lacrosse at UConn in 1999, along with their two-year old son, Connor.
