Cascio's first shot of the day came in the 22nd minute as he drilled a shot toward net but it was stopped by Frairs' goalkeeper Jhojan Obando, who made three saves in the first half.

Carlos Alvarez was able to play the ball across the field to Max Wasserman late in the second half. Wasserman then turned to find senior Shawn Nicklaw cutting down the far sideline of the field. For the Huskies' second goal of the contest, Nicklaw sent a cross into the box to find Ponce, who chipped the ball past a diving Obando in net in the 76th minute.
