Farkes Named JSR All-American

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 11, 2006) - Incoming University of Connecticut baseball senior Josh Farkes (Boston, Mass.) was named to the 2006 Jewish Sports Review All-America team this month. The right-fielder was an integral part of the Huskies’ successful 39-18-1 season with a team-high .349 batting average.
Farkes was named the utility player for the Jewish All-America team. His performance at the plate for the Huskies this year included five home runs and 31 runs batted in. He stole seven bases and crossed the plate 35 times.
In the field, Farkes recorded no errors and recorded four assists. He had 91 putouts in right field for the Huskies in his 52 games.
