Norton Named To Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (December 20, 2005) - Right-handed pitcher Tim Norton (Pascoag, R.I.) garnered 2006 Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team honors as announced by the conference office. Norton posted a 4-0 record and a 3.07 ERA in 2005. He surrendered just 20 earned runs in 58.2 innings pitched while striking out 49. In the off-season, Norton was named the Cape Cod League Pitcher of the Year.
Norton, and the rest of the Huskies, were ranked ninth in the 2006 BIG EAST Preseason Poll. The team finished the 2005 season with a 34-22-0 overall record and a 11-12-0 record in the BIG EAST to take sixth place in the league.
