Quarterfinal Round Game Time Announced

STORRS, CT (November 24) — After blanking Michigan 5-0 in third round action, the University of Connecticut women’s soccer team has earned yet another home game against Brigham Young University for the 2003 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer College Cup Quarterfinal round. The Huskies and the Cougars will meet on Saturday, November 29 at 12 noon. All action takes place at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, CT and the winner will advance to the NCAA Women’s Soccer College Cup in Cary, NC.
Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and youths, and $3 for children who are five years of age or younger.
The Huskies have advanced to the NCAA quarterfinal round in 10 of the last 11 years, and are looking for their first berth in the semifinal round since 1997.
BYU, a team that was in and out of the top 25 all year long, advanced to the Final Eight with a first round victory over the No. 10 seed Colorado, 2-0, and then defeated Idaho State, 2-0 two days later. Saturday, BYU upset BIG EAST Tournament Champion, Villanova in Philadelphia by a 5-3 count on penalty kicks after the two teams played scoreless ball through regulation and two overtime sessions. The Cougars are yet to give up a goal in the tournament in three games. BYU is 3-2-1 against ranked teams this season, and will come into Storrs, with a 16-6-2 record, including a 7-3-1 record away from home.
