Huskies Shut Out St. Louis, 2-0

MADISON, WI (Sept. 15) – The University of Connecticut Women’s Soccer team recorded another win, defeating St. Louis, 2-0 on Sunday at the Rocky Rococo Soccer Invitational in Madison, WI.
Husky Jennifer Sullivan (Stonington, CT) scored her second goal of the weekend at the 6:18 mark to give UConn a quick lead. The goal was assisted by Salla Ranta (Helsinki, Finland). In the same half, Sullivan assisted on a goal by sophomore Kristen Graczyk (Albuquerque, NM). Rookie goaltender Megan Jessee (Orefield, PA) made the only save for the Huskies in the shutout.
UConn players earned five spots on the All-Tournament Team for their efforts. Goaltender Maria Yatrakis (Brooklyn, NY) was named the Defensive MVP for the weekend.
The Huskies improve to 5-1-1 with the win. They return to action on Friday, September 20 when they travel to Syracuse, NY to face the Orangewomen at 7 p.m.
