Huskies to Host Rutgers in BIG EAST Quarters
STORRS, CT (November 4) – The University of Connecticut men’s soccer team will face Rutgers University in a quarterfinal game of the 2002 BIG EAST Tournament on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 pm at Morrone Stadium. Connecticut fell to the No. 3 seed after Boston College defeated Rutgers, 3-2, on Monday afternoon capturing the BIG EAST Regular Season Title.
Connecticut, ranked sixth nationally, went 7-3 in conference play and 13-4 overall. UConn, making its 18th consecutive championship appearance, will play host to No. 6 Rutgers. Senior Damani Ralph leads the Huskies with 14 goals and four assists for 32 points this season and rookie keeper Adam Schuerman has played and started in all 17 games for UConn sporting a goals against average of 0.83.
