Coach Kimball joined the UConn staff in 2004. Her current team responsibilities are women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse. In May 2021, Amanda transitioned into the role of Associate Head Sports Performance Coach.
Prior to this new role, She was responsible for all aspects of training for the National Championship Women’s Basketball team from 2006 thru 2020 seasons. Amanda has coached student-athletes from Women’s Basketball to 6 National Championships and 14 Consecutive Final Four appearances.
While at UConn, Amanda has also worked with Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Rowing, Women’s Volleyball, Softball and the 2-time National Championship Field Hockey team.
Kimball is the Director of Massage therapy for UConn athletics. She coordinates all aspects of sports massage and recovery massage with all student athletes. In 2008 Amanda earned her license as a massage therapist and works closely with Athletic Training to take preventative and rehabilitation measures in implementing massage.
Amanda served as the internship coordinator and has participated in the design of both the 18,000 sq. ft. Shenkman training center and the 4000 sq. ft. Werth Champions training center.
Prior to her appointment at UConn, Amanda served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Springfield College, primarily training Women’s Basketball, Men’s Sprinters/Jumpers, Men’s Volleyball and assisting with Football. During her time at Springfieldshe also completed internships at Harvard University and Florida State University.
Amanda has been sought out to speak on the international, national and regional level on topics including building national championship programs, alternative training methods, massage therapy and restorative methods, and performance testing.
A native of Arundel, Maine, Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Maine and her Master of Education degree from Springfield College. She earned her LMT from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy.
