Before UConn: Following a stellar junior season at Tampa Prep, was a consensus Top 75 recruit and rising, as well as a McDonald’s All-American nominee. Then suffered a torn ACL in his left knee last fall and missed his entire senior season... Averaged 22.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks during his junior season before tearing the ACL in his right knee during a regional semifinal game in February. Spent the spring and summer in rehab, but likely tried to come back too early and suffered the injury to the other knee... Has not played competitively since February, 2015... Played three seasons at Tampa Prep under coach Joe Fenlon... Was Florida 3A Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior... Played AAU ball for Team Breakdown Elite out of North Lauderdale, Fla.
