T.J. Gibbs is in his first year as a graduate assistant at UConn for the 2025-26 season. A Scotch Plains, N.J. native, Gibbs was a four-year standout at Notre Dame from 2016-20 before a three-year professional career in Slovenia, Romania, Portugal and Germany.
Gibbs finished his career in South Bend as the 16th all-time leading scorer in Fighting Irish history, scoring 1,576 points across 136 games. After his freshman season he became a full-time starter for the Irish and logged over 35 minutes per game in each of his final three seasons. He was a career 11.6 point per game scorer and shot 37.3 percent from 3-point range, including two seasons over 40 percent.
Prior to Notre Dame Gibbs was a four-year standout at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange, N.J. He scored 1,987 points for the Pirates, a program record, and was a two-time All-State selection. Gibbs’ brother Sterling spent one season at Connecticut after stops at Texas and Seton Hall, while his brother Ashton played at Pitt.
