Rich Kelly will begin his third season as a graduate assistant at UConn in 2025-26. The Shelton, Conn. native was a member of the support staff for the 2024 national title team.
Kelly came to Storrs after a decorated collegiate playing career from 2017-22. He started his career at Quinnipiac where he was a 2018 All-Rookie pick and a 2019 and 2020 Second Team All-MAAC pick. Kelly scored 13.6 points with 4.6 assists per game in 89 career contests for the Bobcats, including a 40-point game on Feb. 17, 2018 vs. Fairfield.
Kelly spent his final two seasons at Boston College (11.0 ppg in 2020-21) and UMass (12.5 ppg in 2021-22). For his career he averaged 13.0 points and 4.0 assists in 137 games. Prior to his college career he prepped at Montverde Academy where he played for his uncle Kevin Boyle, Fairfield Prep and Cheshire Academy. He was the New Haven Register and Hearst CT Prep Player of the Year in Connecticut, a two-time All-New England pick and won a Connecticut State championship during his high school career.
