While at UConn: Has appeared in 34 games, starting 31, after suffering season-ending shoulder injuries early in his first two seasons and finally playing in 25 games in 2018-19. Has averaged 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists... Appeared in just three games as a true freshman in 2016-17, and in six games in 2017-18 before injuries to his left shoulder that required surgery... Missed eight games in 2018-19 due to injury, including last three... Had a full summer of workouts, however, on court and in weight room, gaining strength and improving skills... Participated in Chris Paul’s CP3 Elite Guard Camp in August, 2017.
As a Redshirt Sophomore in 2018-19: Appeared in 25 games, starting 23, averaging 12.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and team-leading 3.6 assists ... Had 20 double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 24 against Florida State... Led team in scoring five times, led in assists 12 times... Named to AAC Weekly Honor Roll on Dec. 10 after career-high 11 assists vs. Lafayette... Missed five games Jan. 31-Feb. 14 with shoulder injury, and missed last three games of season after suffering concussion and eye injury vs. Temple on March 7.
As a Redshirt Freshman in 2017-18: Started the first six games of the season, averaging 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game... In second game of the PK80 Invitational, suffered a hard blow to his left shoulder against Michigan State, reinjuring it. Struggled through 17 minutes of following game against Arkansas before sitting out. After further examination by medical experts, surgery was determined as the best course of treatment.
As a Freshman in 2016-17: Scored 14 points off the bench in the season opener against Wagner and jumped into the starting lineup against Northeastern and Loyola Marymount... With 51 seconds remaining in the first half vs. LMU, after already scoring 10 points, was involved in a collision while diving for a loose ball and suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder that required season-ending surgery... Averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and had an overall field goal percentage of .500 in the three games in which he appeared.
Before College: Electrifying point guard who became the 12th McDonald’s All-American to join the UConn program... Consensus Top 30 recruit, named Mr. Georgia Basketball and Georgia Gatorade State Player of the Year in 2015-16... As a senior, averaged 20.1 points, 5.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 steals at Miller Grove High School (Lithonia, Ga.), leading team to a 31-3 record, the Georgia 5A State Championship and the semifinals of the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School Nationals before bowing to Oak Hill Academy by one point... Played four years at Miller Grove, winning three state championships under Coach Sharman White... Played for the winning Boys West Team in 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game, scoring 7 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 4 assists... Played in Jordan Brand Classic game, and scored 2 points with 5 assists and 3 steals in 10 minutes, but dislocated his left shoulder midway through the first half and missed the rest of the game. Had surgery to repair the damage and spent the summer of 2016 rehabbing the shoulder... Played AAU ball for Team CP3 in North Carolina.
