Before UConn: Came to UConn as a graduate student with one season of eligibility remaining, following two outstanding seasons at Seton Hall, where he transferred after his freshman year at the University of Texas... Voted Second Team All-Big East, Second Team NABC All-District 5, Second Team All-Met Writers Team last year, as well as MVP of the 2014 Paradise Jam... Twice named Big East Player of the Week, five times named to Big East Weekly Honor Roll... Has played 91 college games, starting 49, and has scored 972 points, handed out 266 assists, and grabbed 163 rebounds... All-State high school performer at Seton Hall Prep where he holds the school’s scoring record (1,984 points).
As a Graduate Student in 2015-16: Started every game for the Huskies and scored 441 points (12.3 ppg, 4th on the team), led the team in three-pointers made (79) ... Led the team in scoring in 10 games (tied for most on the team), scored 20 or more points in seven games and hit double figures in 23 games ... Named to American Conference Weekly Honor Roll three times... Scored a season-high 26 points in UConn’s 81-78 win over Memphis on Jan. 9 at Gampel... Posted his third-straight 20-point game in a win over Houston on Jan. 17... Scored a team-best 20 points on 4-of-10 shooting in a setback to No. 24 SMU on March 3... Tallied 20 points in UConn’s 73-61 loss to No. 1 seed Kansas in NCAA Tournament Second Round on March 19...Named to 2015-16 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
As A Senior in 2014-15 (at Seton Hall): Played in 29 games, starting 28, averaged 16.3 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.8 apg and 33.7 minutes per game... Only player in Big East Conference to rank among Top 5 in both scoring (4th) and assists (5th). Second in the Big East with a .436 mark from three-point range, ranking ninth nationally... Second in the league with 17.5 ppg in conference play and hit 75 treys on the season, the fourth-highest total in the Big East... Had 25 double-digit scoring performances including nine 20-plus point performances.. Led the team in scoring 14 times and posted a team-high in assists in 18 contests... Exploded for career-high 40 points, knocking down 7-of-9 three-pointers and all 13 of his free throws to help Seton Hall defeat Illinois State for the Paradise Jam crown (11/24/14), earning him MVP honors for the tournament.
As a Junior in 2013-2014 (at Seton Hall): Played in 32 games, starting 21 of 32 games, scoring a team-leading 421 points and avering 13.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg and 4.2 apg. Finished fourth overall in the Big East with 4.2 assists per game and a 2.0 assist/turnover ratio... Posted double-figures a team-best 23 times and had six 20-point performances. Scored double-figures in 15 of first 18 games at Seton Hall, including a 23-point effort going 17-of-23 (.739) at the free-throw line in Seton Hall debut versus Niagara (11/9).
As a Freshman in 2011-2012 (at Texas): Played in 30 of the team’s 34 games... Averaged 2.6 points and 0.7 assists in 7.5 minutes per contest... Converted 24-of-53 (.453) field goals, including 13-of-35 (.371) from three-point range, and 17-of-22 (.773) free throws.
