Houston Texans Sign Former Husky Chris Freemen

STORRS, CT - Former UConn kicker Chris Freeman (Zionsville, IN) signed with the NFL's Houston Texans this week. Freeman
Freeman spent two seasons with the Huskies after transferring to UConn from Indiana prior to the 2024 season. He finished the 2025 season 22-of-26 on field goal attempts, with a long of 50 yards and a streak of 12-straight makes, setting a new UConn school record. He finished the year a perfect 52-52 on extra points and totaled 121 points for the season.
Over his two seasons, Freeman made 43 field goals and totaled 230 total points. He hit career-long field goals of 53 yards twice in 2024, against Wake Forest at home and on the road at UMass. He made a career-best four field goals including the game-winner in the closing seconds to lead the Huskies to a win at Buffalo last fall.
