UConn put together another scoring drive on their next possession as Osborne led a 10-play drive and hit Ryder Treadway on a two-yard scoring strike on third and goal, his first touchdown as a Husky, to pull within 21-14 with 1:56 left in the second and that's where it would stay into the half.
The Falcons capitalized on a big special teams play in the third quarter, converting on a fake punt on fourth down with Hodges doing the damage with a 19-yard run to keep a drive alive. On first and goal from the four, Gage LaDue pushed his way into the end zone to cap off a 16-play drive that covered 81 yards and ate up 9:40, pushing the Air Force lead back to two scores, 28-14, with 2:34 left in the third.
Osborne answered with two quick strikes on the ensuing drive, a 20-yard pass to Julian Allen then finding tight end Alex Godavitarne who beat the defense for a 55-yard touchdown, his first of the season, as UConn scored in just 30 seconds. The extra point missed, putting UConn down 28-20 with 2:04 left in the third. UConn got the ball right back after a three and out and went down with Kenji Christian ripping off a 46-yard touchdown to set up a two-point try for a tie game. Osborne however was sacked on the effort, leaving it 28-26 Air Force at 14:53 in the fourth.
The Falcons then ate up 11:37 on the clock on their ensuing drive, marching 75 yards in 19 plays with Hodges putting the game out of reach with a one-yard plunge on fourth and goal with 3:09 left, making it 35-26.ย
