EUGENE, OR – The UConn trio of rising sophomore Brooke Strauss, Mason Brosious and Derek Shimer will be at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon this weekend to compete at the 2026 USA Track and Field U20 Outdoor Championships.
The 2026 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships will serve as the selection event for the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships team that will compete back in Oregon in Augus at the World Championship. Athletes must place in the top-two for their event this weekend to earn a spot on the squad.
Brosious will run in the 800m prelims on Thursday while Strauss will be running in the 1500m and Shimmer will compete in the high jump on Friday afternoon.
