Hense and Mooney Break School Records at Mt. Sac Relays

WALNUT, Calif.- Sophomore heptathlete Maresa Hense and junior decathlete Josh Mooney both broke program records in their respective events at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, California on Thursday.
Hense finished with 5,816 points, placing eighth in the meet overall. On Wednesday, Hense finished ninth in the 100m hurdles, crossing the line in 13.91. The sophomore secured a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.71m. Hense placed 11th in the shot put at 11.51m, and eighth in the 200m at 24.24.
On Thursday, Hense finished seventh in the long jump at 5.92m and tenth in the javelin, with a throw of 34.77m. Hense capped off the record-breaking performance with a win in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:09.03.
Mooney finished third in the meet with a staggering 8,033 points. The Connecticut native finished ninth in the 100m dash at 10.87 and eighth in the long jump at 7.12m. Mooney secured tenth in the shot put at 14.00m and ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.90m.
The junior placed seventh in the 400m with a time of 49.22 and fifth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.11. Mooney picked up stream throughout the day on Thursday, snagging third place in the discus (44.47m), fifth in the pole vault (4.70m) and a win in the javelin (68.55m). Mooney closed the meet with a tenth-place finish in the 1500m, finishing in 4:52.09.
Diarmuid O'Connor finished 10th in the meet at 7,578 points, highlighted by second-place finishes in the shot put at 14.64m and 1500m, crossing the line in 4:23.42.
